West-Tek T-51 Series Power Armor

Developed shortly before the Great War, the T-51 set was one of the last suits of power armor deployed widely by the United States Army, and as such, it remains relatively rare more than 200 years later.

Development & Deployment
Manufactured in 2076, the T-51 suit of Power Armor was developed by defense contractor West-Tek for the United States Army. It was the last suit of powered armor to be successfully deployed in combat. In mid-2076, the first shipment of T-51 power armor was finished and shipped to Anchorage. Powered by a back-mounted TX-28 Fusion Core Pack which generates an output power of 60,000 Watts to power the HiFlo hydraulic systems built into the frame of the suit. Made of a poly-laminate composite, the outer shell of the T-51 is lightweight and capable of absorbing over 2500 Joules of kinetic impact. The 10-micron-thick silver ablative coating can reflect laser and other radiation emissions without damaging the composite subsurface, and the eyeslit for the helmet is made of bullet proof glass to protect the wearer from any projectiles.

Use Today
No known factions in the wasteland, with the exception of the Enclave, possess the technology required to manufacture new suits of power armor and rely only on repaired and refurbished pre-War suits. Among the soldiers of the Enclave, this power armor is seen as obsolete, as it was replaced by the Enclave's advanced power armor models. The Brotherhood of Steel equips their Paladins, Sentinels, and all high ranking personnel with T-51 suits, while lower ranks are delegated to T-45 suits. The New California Republic possesses only two suits of T-51 power armor, used to guard the President of the NCR.
